- Find indigenous trees while walking aroung the Managesha Forest. Hike down to Wonci Crater Lake with spectacular views.
Day 1: Addis Ababa, Suba Forest, Weliso
In the morning, we drive to Suba and walk in the natural forest full of many endemic birds and some mammals. While taking a walk in the forest, you will see indigenous trees, such as the Juniper and Podocarpus, that are over 400 years old.
You will also see endemic birds like the Abyssinian Cat Bird, Banded Barbet, Golden-Backed Woodpecker, Black-Headed Forest Oriole, and Wattled Ibis as well as some endemic animals such as Menelik’s Bushbuck. In the afternoon, we drive to Weliso and spend the rest of the day around Weliso in the beautiful lodge.
Day 2: Weliso, Wonchi Crater Lake, Addis Ababa
In the morning, we drive to Wonchi Crater Lake enroute enjoying the magnificent countryside scenery. After about 27 km, we will be driving up a 1000-meter altitude difference.
At Wonchi, we will take a walk and/or horseride to the viewing spot where you will see one of the most beautiful crater lakes. Then we drive back to Addis Ababa through Ambo, arriving in Addis Ababa in the late afternoon.
